Kodo Millet

Coconut Rice

Ingredients:

  1. Kodo millet rice – 50g
  2. Coconut paste – 30g
  3. Bengal gram dal – 10 g
  4. Mustard seeds – 5g
  5. Green chili  & curry leaves

Preparation:

  1. Cook kodo milet rice with water(1:2 ratio) for 20 min.
  2. Make coconut paste.
  3. Add mustard seeds & chana dal in oil pan.
  4. Sauté them together & add coconut paste to them.
  5. Mix them, sprinkle it with curry leaves, & green chilies, sauté all the ingredients together.
  6. Add salt to taste & mix thoroughly.
  7. Put the cooked kodo millet rice into the pan & mix well.
  8. Cook for 5 min.

Poha Tikki

Ingredients:

  1. Kodo millet poha – 100g
  2. Corn flour – 20g
  3. Wheat bread crumbs – 40g
  4. Red chili powder – 1tsp
  5. Turmeric, ajwain – ½ tsp
  6. Garam masala – ¼ tsp
  7. Amchur powder – ½ tsp, salt.

 Preparation:

  1. Wash kodo millet flakes & then Squeeze out the excess water.
  2. Mix all the mentioned ingredients with
  3.  Flakes to get a mixture.
  4. Make small balls of mixture. Flatten it & make kodo millet poha tikki.
  5. Dip this tikki in corn flour slurry & roll them in bread crumbs.
  6. Fry the tikki in oil & serve with tomato sauce.
