Little Millet

 Pudina Rice

Ingredients:

  1. Little millet  – 1 cup
  2. Onion
  3. Carrot
  4. Tomato – 1 each
  5. Curry leaves & bay leaf.

Mint chutney : 

  1. Mint leaves – 1 cup
  2. Coriander leaves
  3. Green chili
  4. Cloves
  5. Garlic pods
  6. Ginger
  7. Oil & salt. 

Preparations:

  1. Cook little millet in a pressure cooker for 1 whistle with salt.
  2. Prepare mint chutney with minimum water.
  3. chop all the vegetables.
  4. In hot pan take 1 tsp of oil.add whole spices & fry for 1 min.
  5. Add chopped onion & fry. Add chopped carrots & stir well, add mint chutney. Add salt to taste.
  6. Add the cooked little millet rice & mix.millet rice has to cool otherwise it will become mushy. Serve hot with raitha

Millet Tea

Ingredients:

  1. Little millet – 50g
  2. Sugar – 1 tsp
  3. Tea powder – 1 tsp
  4. Pepper – 1 ½ tsp
  5. Cardamom – 2 pods
  6. Clove – 1 ½ tsp
  7. Dry genger powder
  8. Water.

 Preparation:

  1. Soak little milet for 2 hrs.& wash it properly. 
  2. Grind the grains by water & filter for 50 ml of little millet milk.
  3. Boil all the spices with the tea powder & 1 cup of water for 10 min.
  4. Add sugar & little millet milk to above spice water.
  5. Filter & serve it hot.
